Fishing Derby Day Oct 19 2025

Today was a great day with our mentees!

We held a small fishing derby, and even though the weather dropped from the 70s yesterday to a chilly 42° this morning, that didn’t stop the fun. By lunchtime, we decided to take a break from the wind and head back to the house for toasted sub sandwiches and chips.

A big thank you to Mrs. Hart for preparing lunch and making hot chocolate to warm everyone up! A few of the boys caught some fish, and afterwards we relaxed at the house — some played video games, others shot hoops or challenged each other in the basketball shootout game.

All in all, it was a successful day filled with connection, laughter, and growth. These young men are not only building friendships, but also finding a safe space to learn and have fun.

Remember: when you do this work, you’re not just changing their lives — they’re changing yours.
